Q: How does Greenways Academy adjust their courses for each student’s needs?
A: With one-on-one teaching, Greenways Academy teachers are able to accommodate each student’s unique learning style. In addition, courses can be modified to accommodate disabilities, including the use of an IEP or 504 Plan.
Q: Can my student take courses at Greenways Academy and another high school at the same time?
A: Yes. As an accredited high school, Greenways credits can be transferred to other high schools. We offer full-time, part-time, or course-by-course enrollment. Credits to be used toward graduation at another high school should be reviewed and approved by that school prior to enrollment.
Q: Is a Greenways Academy’s diploma the same as other high schools?
A: Yes, a Greenways Academy diploma is accredited and recognized by colleges and Universities worldwide.
Q: Is a Greenways Academy’s diploma different than a G.E.D?
A: Yes. A GED is a series of exams administered to certify high school level academic skills. Since Greenways Academy is a school, each of our graduation requirements must be met before a diploma is issued.
Q: When can I start?
A: Greenways Academy has a rolling admissions process; therefore students may enroll any time.

Q: What if I want to start at Greenways soon?
A: Our Director, Patti Greenberg, personally oversees the enrollment process of each student, matching them with a tutor who fits with the students needs and personality, and collaborating with the student and parents in selecting courses from our curriculum that meet our graduation requirements and reflect the students interests and needs. We can usually get a student transitioned to Greenways Academy in 1-2 weeks.
Q: How many hours of tutoring does a full-time student usually need?
A: Generally, our full time students are working with tutors between 8-15 hours/week. Each student is different, and so the amount of tutoring needed to complete schoolwork varies. Adjustments can be made at any time.
Q: How do I pay for Greenways?
A: Parents will receive a monthly bill of your student’s curriculum purchases (beginning of semester) and tutoring charges. We accept many forms of payment including checks, Visa and Mastercard.
FAQs- Enrollment and Tuition
Our staff turnover rate was 3% in the 2015-2016 school year. 96% of teachers had satisfactory or better evaluations. Greenways Academy teachers are evaluated annually utilizing a proprietary evaluation protocol developed in consultation with GA administrators and instructional team leaders, and aligned with iNACOL Standards for Quality Online Teaching. The comprehensive faculty assessment and development system designed specifically to assess the quality of teachers in the virtual education setting. The program evaluates teachers across several standards of effective online instruction taking quantitative data of student learning gains into account in order to provide a complete picture of the virtual instruction acumen and effectiveness of each faculty member. 15% of the total score is derived directly from student performance.

Greenways teachers grade individual students work daily and frequently check email, voicemail, and messages (for student communications at least twice per day. All email, voicemail, and messages will be responded to within 24 hours during the work week. Teachers will be available to students and parents either, cell phone, or email until a minimum of 8:00 PM on school days. Teachers will talk personally with each student and parent at agreed times, and all calls or conversations will be entered into the communication log system

Student / Teacher Ratios
Our average teacher student ratio for grades 6-12 is 1 to 50. Details by grade level bands are as follows:
K-3: Not applicable.
4-8: 1 to 50 (grades 6-8 only – grades 4-5 are not applicable)
9-12: 1 to 50
Full time teachers have a total load of 200 – 225 students and part time teachers 50 – 100 depending on whether they are half or quarter time. Because greenways offers a unique program where certified teachers provide guided and supervised online instruction at all times, each teacher has no more than one subject area of expertise. For example, a half time Mathematics teacher may teach two sections, Algebra and Geometry, with no more than 100 students combined. These ratios hold true for grades 6-12 in both core and elective courses which includes grade level bands 6-8 and 9-12. Since Greenways offers a 6-12curriculum , the grade level bands of K-3 are not applicable and 4-8 are partially applicable.
