Business Information Management - A / B
This two-semester course is intended as a practical, hands-on guide to help you understand the basic computer skills required during your college education and when pursuing a career. There are three Course Activities (2 in semester 1 and 1 in semester 2) that you need to work on throughout the duration of the course. These activities are long-term projects spread over the length of the course. The due dates for these activities are to be determined by the course instructor.
Semester 1 will cover the needs for technology in business organizations and how businesses use hardware, software, Internet, and emerging technologies. This course also covers productivity applications such as word processing software and spreadsheet software. Semester 2 covers the use of presentation software for preparing, enhancing, and delivering business slideshows. It also covers how databases are used to store data and improve the decision-making capabilities of business organizations. Additionally, the course covers the principles of website design and project management in business organizations.
